“WHAT A F***ING PALAVA”
First of all a big thanks to Joe for stepping into the breach in the absence of ‘The Two Ronnies’ and helping run this months circus, which made it’s way up to Beaconhills. Following on from the previous month where Barra was unable to draw the teams due to much uncertainty in the availability of the members for the day. This was postponed for a further 2 weeks to allow certain ‘brownie’ points to be accumulated.
Waste of time……
No sooner had the teams been drawn the phone is red hot with call offs, calls back on. Re-draw….again…….and again……and once more, just to be sure.
A few late comers made for a juggling of the tee-off order, karma meant that those that turned up late and tee-d off later would get pished on.
New invitee onto the Society’s subs bench was Colin fresh in from Sydney, who was to immediately don the captain’s armband and lead his team to the jackets on his first attempt, no mean feat considering he had the current NAGA of the year, NAGA of the month and all round minger, Bob under his wing. Dizzy heights for Bob who was to be chipping in (twice), from off the green. Is the ‘grim reaper’ back? The winning team was to romp it home with an unprecedented winning margin of 6 shots in an Ambrose competition.

At the bottom end of the awards the disjointed outfit led by Spoon was to come home with a piss poor net 66. Much bickering and team unrest was to contribute to the teams performance, this, along with the captains pre-match prep…….allegedly.

As the winners were to bask in their glory, it would be the losing team on the day who would emerge as the long term winners, as Joe produce the all new ‘Performance Powerbands’ (not the one’s seen on Current Affair’) to help these muppets centralise their magnetic fields next time they’re out.

Next game is at Berwick Montuna, could all members please notify the authorities of their intentions towards playing on this day asap, so the draw can be made.
