This month had the troops congregate at the very fine, Cape Schank Resort .
A midweek scratching through the week saw the Spoon get a guernsey, and a small re-arrangement of the teams followed to accommodate this.
But with a very late scratching on Saturday night from Damo, who caught a bit of St. Valentines day gastro from Anna, threw the whole club into chaos and left the Barra to re-arrange the groups yet again at the eleventh hour, seemingly he has nothing better to do with his time, with Jimmy the Jambo filling the void.
The new groups were announced on the first tee and some managed to handle the changes better than others, this was to become more apparent as the day unfolded. Perhaps some players just shouldn’t play together.
Carts were the order of the day and proved to be a bit much for some, only 100 meters up the first fairway the Spoon called a halt on his driver, Clayton, and booted him out the driver’s seat citing far too much erratic footwork on the pedals, which was inviting spinal chord injuries should this continue. Only a few holes later the Spoon was spotted doing the commando roll out of said cart as he tried to lean out to pick up his ball. Their team mates for the day Barra and Billy Mac also came a bit unstuck as they found their cart didn’t have the required torque to master a small incline, although it did get 90% of the way up, this was a far as it would go and reeled into freefall with the Barra quickly bailing leaving the Macster doing his best Reg Varney (on the buses) impression, standing on the edge conductor style, before his less than spectacular dismount of the runaway cart.
The winning group for the day of Winker, Stevie and Andy Mac was led by Joe who came in with a net score of 55.25 and narrowly beat home the calamitous group led by Spoon by less than 0.4 of a shot.

However, it was at the other end of the awards that things were getting a bit testy. The re-arranged groups saw the Barra ditch the under performing Christophe and Biggsy in favour of Billy Mac and Clayton proving to be a master stroke for one of the organisers. The pairing of Christophe and Paul was to be too much of a clash of personalities. Each with a similar handicap they repeatedly tried to over ride the other with the team’s captaincy, such to the point of decisions being made without consultation as the day unfolded.

This proved to be teams undoing and the inevitable outcome could only be the NAGA.
Counselling has been arranged for the two aggrieved players as it was noted that they have been drawn in the same group for the next outing, handbags ready gentlemen.
Nearest the Pins for the day went to Bob, Deeks, Shug and Joe.
All the same another quality day in the MGC
Next game is at Berwick Montuna with an 8.00 am tee off; format is a singles event, stableford.
