For the second outing of the season, upon request from Deeks, the Barra booked into Beaconhills. With a few of the members away interstate and a couple more missing, including Deeks, plus the non-appearance of Baby Koala, it was left to the Barra to re-jig the numbers and carry the club through the day again, no problem for the wee man.
Format on the day was to be ‘stableford pairs’ and with a few shaky starts it was the pre-game favourites of Snappy Tom and Winker who were to be wearing the jackets at days end with a combined score of 71 points.
Some 30 points off the pace were a very weary Sutho and Alan who were to relieve Dave of his little companion and take home the NAGA.
Dave was taking little glee in handing over his wee soulmate
Nearest the pin awards went to Damo, Dave and Snappy Tom
Again, in the absence of Deeks, Shug and Joe it was left to the Barra to chuck on the handicappers hat and with a very soft touch only administered a one shot cut to the winning team, unfortunately for all future winners the Barra will not be doing the handicapping, but will be at the mercy of the ruthless bas**** that slashes at will, whether it’s a fun game or not.
Next month on November 1st is a special day in the clubs calendar with the troops heading to Flinders for the annual Jack Jones Memorial.
Could all the members please be at the venue by 7.00 am so we can have our traditional toast on the first tee.
Competition will be, as usual, a singles event with the format ‘stableford’. As always the prizes box is bursting at the seams for this one and promises to be a memorable day.
