Round 8: March 31st @ Centenary Park: 4 Ball: Tee off 8.00am

Easter Sunday saw the troops take to a foggy Centenary Park for what was planned as the final team event of the season. With a no show from Stork and back issues taking out Deeks and Scott the format was quickly changed to singles. The late change may have influenced some players, given a team event mind set is a lot different to singles.

High scoring was the theme for the day with all but the bottom 3 players scoring in the 30’s. The race for NAGA was a close one, with eventual winner Red missing a 3-foot putt on the 18th to finish with a disappointing 27pwa. This was even more painful after he would’ve finished 3rd last had he made it, with a countback needed to separate Barra and Ryan on 28pwa. For his troubles Red gets the company of Mr Numpty for an extended period and the pleasure of wearing the unicorn for the last round of the season.

It was equally tight at the top, with 2 countbacks needed to decide the top 5. Eventual winner Taffy finishing with 40 points beating out Billy Mac via countback, who also choked on the 18th with a bogie all that was needed to take out the win, finishing with a double bogie 3 points. Remarkable finish from Billy, who after having a near death experience earlier in the year has bounced back with high scoring in his last 2 outings. 3rd place was taken out by Girdy with 37 points, and a countback between Mitch and Clayton on 36 points rounding out the top 5. The winner taking home a hat and t-shirt from major sponsor Mitre 10.

Secret 6 on the day was also taken out by Taffy, pocketing a Taylormade hat for his troubles.
