Round 6: Brighton: Singles: February 12th:

For the first time the MGC travelled to Brighton Golf Course with most excited to be playing a different course. Not sure if it was the brisk morning air but there seemed to be excited players outside the group also. Unfortunately, the course was a little worse for wear and with forward tee positions there seemed to be more than the 6 Par 3s listed on the card, but you can only play the course presented and high scores were expected and produced, with 8 players carding scores better than handicap.

Coming into the day Baby Koala was chasing an unprecedented 3 peat of victories having donned the jacket in his previous 2 outings and getting off to a quick start this was looking increasingly possible as the day wore on. Tommy, also feeling confident after standing atop the podium the previous round was also talking up a 3 peat, all he had to do was win this round and the Andy Mac. Unfortunately, he soon went to water soon after the call, another victim of the spruke! With 6 players carding 40 points or better it was a case of who could hold onto the unluckiest of leads with the Andy Mac next up in the season. It can down to a shootout between Ryan and Baby Koala, with Ryan holding on with 43 points, followed by Baby on 42 and Winker rounding out the top 3 with 41. Well played Ryan, enjoy your time in the jacket, new Titleist cap and Footjoy socks, along with your lower handicap next round.

The battle for NAGA was not so close. With Red finishing in the first group with 33 points, a score that has won in the past, it was a long wait to see if anyone would come in with a lower score. With news coming through that there were a few horror scores coming in he held some hope that he would avoid Mr Numpty. With 3 players on 34 points and 2 on 33 it was left up to Hubba to come in with a dismal score of 24 points to take out NAGA for the day, have the pleasure of Mr Numpty and the turkey hat next up, with Red and Barra tied on 33 points filling the bottom places, with all 3 taking a nice slide of 1 shot into the Andy Mac. Top shelf handicap management boys.
