Round 5: Rowville Lakes – Singles Event

After a 2 month break to enjoy festive activities the Society ventured to Rowville Lakes on Australia Day. Weather wise it was a smashing day, however tight fairways and many under repair meant for a difficult round of golf.

In the chase for the Tweed Joe and Titch went neck and neck with Joe winning via countback with a respectable score of 36 pwa and taking home the Jacket and the Australia Day Bounty of prizes.

At the other end controversy arose with Taffy having to retire hurt after 9 holes on 11pts. A vote was had at the club to determine if his score counted towards the NAGA and a unanimous vote bar 1 removed him from the scoring. This meant the dog was still up for grabs with 3 golfers hunting the dog, but dogs being loyal companions it found is way home to the unlucky Billy Mac. Through an administrative error said dog was having a rest elsewhere and a replacement, which Billy was no stranger to, was presented to a rather happy recipient.

Meals for the day were Red on mains and Koala on Dessert cheers lads.

Comment of the day was Hubba who he indicated “he had tried going down on a priest but it was not for him”. Fair enough each to their own.

Another unlucky player on the day was Tommy H. With a hefty $5 side bet with soon to be father in law Barra also going to the wire, with a countback the only way to separate the 2, although again with some controversy due to incorrect score cards, but we will leave this between the 2 of them.
