The Society ventured to Rossdale on a cold and windy morning on Sunday 1st December. 4 ball Ambrose was the format for the day, with the highlight of the day seeing Barra, returning after a 20 month lay off, hit a sweet drive off the 10th tee (even if it ended up deep in the forest).
4 teams were competing for the Jackets and the dreaded NAGA. A tight fought competition was had by all, with an even spread of 4 points between 1st and 4th. The eventual winners captained by Joe were Taffy, Sammy and KB.
The unlucky losers and recipients of the twirly hats and dog were the team captained by Bob, and assisted by Hubba, Winker & Clayton. (If you look closely in the photo Bob is giving an indication of where he felt the blame lay).
Winners of nearest the pins were Bob twice and Girdy (holes were not able to be identified due to incorrect placements by team 1).
Event management was by Billy Mac and Barra. Billy Mac on mains was keenly waited on by participants, and wait we did! However, a superb steak pie and wedges and mushy peas was delivered followed by Xmas pudding and custard by Barra.
An excellent end to 2019. As we do not meet until the new year, I wish you all a Merry & safe Xmas and a Happy New Year.
In the that’s unlucky section of the day, Bob and Hubba popped their twirly hat cherries and will be sporting said hats at Rowville Lakes next time out. (Note: Even though Bob has been the recipient of 2 NAGA of the year trophies he’s never had the pleasure of the twirly hat.)
