Second trip out for the season and it was the only second time the MGC had ventured down to Lang Lang and that was a long time between drinks. But judging by the feedback, it won’t be as long before we return.
Season’s first team event with a 4 man ambrose the format, this seemed to set a more relaxed tone among the members, a few a touch more relaxed than others following their Grand Final parties the day before.
This had no bearing on Team Victor, with the captain unveiling the lucky Killie hat and shirt on the first tee to lead his merry men to a comfortable win scoring a net 55.25 to finish 2 shots clear of their nearest rivals.
Winker, Billy Mac, Victor (missing Taffy) the recipients of plenty of prizes of hats, prov 1s, stubby holders and Papermate pens.
However, Unlike Captain Vic, Captain Joe tried to gain inspiration from his pre-mix. That proved to be to no avail as inevitably it was Team Joe who would be donning the twirly hats after carding a net score of 60.875 to finish over 5 shots off the pace, to be left holding last month’s absent dog.

For some captains the attraction of the Australian fauna being in close just isn’t for them. Bob quickly realised to try and hit a golf ball with both eyes firmly on a neighbouring kangaroo just isn’t going to work, and it didn’t as he sclaffed a 5 iron about 20m.
Nearest the pins for the day went to Joe (5th), Terry (9th), Joe (12th) and Taffy (15th).
Handicap adjustments were as follows; Vic 9 into 8, Taffy 22 to 21, Winker 26 to 25 and Billy Mac 37 to 36. The bottom side all eased out one shot; Joe 14 to 15, Biggsy 24 to 25, Tommy 29 to 30 and Sutho 30 to 31.
