Format; 4 ball best ball, Ambrose

The penultimate game of the season had the boys return to the splendid Patterson River after a 5 year absence. The weather was perfect and the format of the day was a 4 ball Ambrose event.

All the teams were handicapped quite evenly with less than a 1.5 difference over the field.

As was the case at the last Ambrose event the losing team was decided by 0.25 of a shot as Team Christophe carded a 2 under, nett 58. Unsporting behaviour saw the captain proceed to hurl abuse at the team in front for slow play, where in fact the electric cart had broken down in the middle of the fairway, totally unavoidable, very un-Australian.Unfortunately for this team, as is MGC tradition, the losing team on this day is responsible for the event management on the final game of the season.

On a lighter note, Team Paul was the one to conquer the course best with a 5 under, nett 53.625 finishing almost 3 clear of the field. Paul was ably accompanied by Mitch, Macca and Billy Mac.

Nearest the pins on the day went to Tim (2^nd), Paul (7^th), Christophe (12^th) Barra (16^th).

Handicap adjustments were as follows; Paul 18 to 17, Mitch 22 to 21, Macca 28 to 27, Billy Mac 39 to 38, Christophe 10 to 11, Taffy 21 to 22, Nick 29 to 30 and Alan 36 to 37.
