Format; Matchplay/stableford
A return to Devilbend, a course we seldom ventured to in recent years. But it was in fine nick with not much to complain about. A late call off from big Nick who damaged a mitt attempting to play cricket the day before. Worse still, was Baby Koala failing to show at all without any notification whatsoever.
The day would host the much anticipated semi-finals of the annual Matchplay with Joe and Deeks going head to head and Ryan taking on Christophe. The rest of the plebs would thrash out a stableford comp.
The Matchplay final to be held on the last game of the season will be contested by Joe and Ryan. Joe managing to eventually get the win over Deeks 2 and 1. Ryan coming out on top 3 and 1 over Christophe.
The overall scoring on the day was relatively low with only 5 players managing to get over 30 points. Best on the day though was Biggsy shooting a steady 36 points.
If anyone wondered if the handicappers had got it right, the bottom 2 cast adrift outside the winners circle were Tim off 36 with 23 points and Billy Mac carding a mere 15 points playing off 37, who managed an out on a hole he had 3 shots on, just “a good player oot o luck” I guess.
Nearest the pins on the day went to Ryan (3rd), Barra (8th), Red (13th).
Handicap adjustments were as follows; Biggsy cut 2 from 24 to 22, Billy Mac 37 to 38, Tim 36 to 37 and Bob 20 to 21.
The secret six was tied between Sutho and Clayton, rewarded with $20 a piece for a score of 14 points.
The day would tinged with much sadness and admiration as fellow member Andy Mac braved his illness to visit the club and spend some quality time with the club members and friends. It was, without doubt, a first class effort from a first class guy.

The first group will host the semi finals of the annual Matchplay tournament. The 2 winners will advance to the final to be played at the Divot in May.
