Format; 4 ball, best ball
Following the Armageddon weather reports of early December, this game was rescheduled to the start of the calendar year. With a late call-off due to an off-season mishap meant Barney would fill in for Sutho. An early morning text from the much missed Tich would see Deeks’ team playing as a 3 ball.
There was plenty friendly pre-match banter thrown around regarding the outcome of the day, however there’s always one who takes it too far with an out and out sledge with strong insinuations that a certain team was destined only for the naga on the day.
The joke was on the perpetrator as Team Vic were the ones to serve up a large slice of humble pie to be wearing the tweed with a gross 65 net 52.375, well played lads. Ironically, the prize pool was gratefully donated by the missing Tich. Each player receiving an Isuzu showbag full of goodies.
Unfortunately for Team Joe, the withdrawal of Sutho meant a further handicap cut and therefore it could only be a bridge too far as they were gallantly defeated by 0.25 of a shot, with a 68 net 58.125, all sportingly took it on the chin.
Nearest the pins went to; Bob (3rd), Ryan (7th), Baby Koala (10th), Deeks (13th), Nick (15th)
Thanks to Sammy, Baby Koala and Billy Mac for the event management on the day. It was also noted it was Billy Mac’s chance at redemption following previous let downs on the dessert front, pass marks achieved.
The handicap adjustments are as follows; Vic 8 to 7, Bob 20 to 19, Stevie 36 to 35, Tim 37 to 36. Joe 12 to 13, Barra 21 to 22, Winker 26 to 27, Barney 20 to 21.
