Round 2 of the year saw the troops grace the fairways of the Royal Divot. On an overcast day with rain looming the mood was a bit sedate but dry conditions with a bit of sun on the closing holes alleviated any concerns. The mood was lifted by Girdy and Joe turning up pished and the Gird impersonating an upside down turtle after rolling around on the first tee. The joviality continued with Macster debuting a ridiculous pair of Gregories. Depth perception later in the day was an associated problem as he managed to take a divot with his putter.
Charmer continued his dress code antics by sporting a pair of Aldi jeans.
Controversy then ensued with several discussions over the new Duckworth Ellis rules for a team of 3.
Once proceedings were under way play flowed smoothly as battle was engaged by the 6 hardy teams.
Securing the NAGA was the group of Joe, Taffy, Baby Koala and Nick with a paltry gross 75 net 64 and change.
MWinners for the day were Shuggie, Poodle and Spoon with 6 under netting 57 and a bit. Tweeds on with Fred Perry t shirts and sleeves of pro V1s all round.NTPs for the day went to Redda and Nick. Upon distribution of golf balls for this Nick produced a magnificent Falcon as Joe’s quality lob of said pill sailed through his mitts and clocked him square on the coupon. As both were in the NAGA team it was suggested this was no accident.
After a lovely meal of home made soup and Chilli Con Carne the room hushed as the draws were made for the next round of Match Play at the Jack Jones which produced 2 old firm ties and a family affair. -Vic
