Format; Matchplay/Stableford
Welcome back everyone to the new season. Sandringham beckoned for the first game on the calendar. The weather was spot on and after a few late changes to the starting line-up it was down to business. A new initiative this season would have us contest for an annual Matchplay trophy, played out over the course of the season. Drawn out the hat, round 1 would have 8 players given a bye and the other 16 pitched against each other.
The following results were as follows; Tich bt. Deeks (1 up) Snappy Tom bt. Bob (7 and 5) Koala bt. Christophe (3 and 2) Barra bt. Sutho (4 and 3) Taffy bt. Andy Mac (4 and 3) Hubba bt. Red (5 and 4) Winker walkover Tim Sammy walkover Ryan Alongside this everyone would play in a stableford competition. The new NAGA trophy ‘dog of a day’ was to make its debut and one of the late call-ups, Chopper had it firmly in his sights. With 4 outs in the first four holes and turning with only 8 points it meant he would be the inaugural winner of said trophy with a grand total of 20 points for the day.
In the winner’s circle with a tidy score of 38 points was Sammy. Sammy would be the beneficiary of some fine prizes including a t-shirt, hat, pen, pitch repairer and a couple of sleeves of the MGC prov1 golf balls.
Sammy would also benefit from a mandatory 2 shot penalty bringing his handicap in from 23 to 21. The bottom 4 would all slide out 1 shot, Chopper going from 28 to 29, Red 16 to 17, Clayton 35 to 36 and on a count-back, Billy Armour 21 to 22.
Nearest the pins on the day went to Barra (3rd) (10th) (13th), Snappy Tom (7th), Tich (15th) Another new concept brought in, to be run by Deeks, is the ‘secret six’. This was tied by Tich and Stevie with 16 points to share $25 each.

All players will play a Stableford competition. The first four groups will also host round 1 of the annual Matchplay event. The following players have a bye into round 2 of the annual Matchplay event: Joe, Clayton, Billy A. Colin, Baby Koala, Mitch, Biggsy, Billy Mac, Winker, Sammy
