Format; 4 ball, best ball
First outing for the troops since the New Year and it was another great day at Eagle Ridge. 4 ball ‘ambrose’ the format and with less than 1 shot in the handicaps between the 6 teams meant the captains would have to make some crucial decisions throughout the day. Possibly the tightest finish in club history saw the teams split by only 4 shots across the field.
We also had a special guest joining us on our jaunt around the course, Joe’s brother-in-law Bobby, on holiday from Scotland. Not everyone took to Bobby as much as others with Bob unleashing a drive straight at him for constant chatting around the course.
This did nothing to quell Bobby’s chit-chat and play-on was simply called.
The NAGA trophy would find its way back to last month’s recipient Vic, along with his teammates Andy Mac, Alan and Billy Mac who were pipped into last positon by a mere 1.25 shots.
At the top end it was also a familiar face, Christophe who’d return to the winners circle as he led his team to a mere 0.125 shot win to put the jackets on.
Nearest the pins went to Ryan (6th), Baby koala (8th), Vic (11th), Sutho (17th).
Handicap adjustments saw the winning team all cut 1 shot each, Christophe 13 to 12, Hubba 22 to 21, Sammy 23 to 22 and Koala 35 to 34.
The losing team would all ease out 1 shot each, Spoon 13 to 14, Andy Mac 23 to 24, Alan 27 to 28 and Billy Mac 38 to 39 (deary me).
