Cape Schanck this month for our Easter hit out with carts booked for all. The usual late call offs had Barra recruiting a couple off the bench in the form of, Billy Armour and the return of one of our prodigal sons, Paul McConologue.
Second last game of the season and with the points tally for both Player and NAGA of year hotting up, it was all to play for.
The team led by Joe would add to their own tally in the NAGA stakes with a net score of 59.
The captain would also take the unprecedented act of laying the blame fair and square on his teammate Hughesy and gave him the trophy to mind until next outing.
In the winner’s circle it was the team captained by Vic who carded a score of net 50 to easily win by 5 clear points, to don the jackets for the day.
Along with the usual array of prizes the winning captain on the day was presented with a bonus prize of a canary. A wee warm up to the usual last match wildlife surprises from Hughesy.
Nearest the pins went to Joe (2), Hughesy, Tich and Deeks.
The handicapping was left to Joe in Hughie’s absence; Vic was cut one shot from 11 to 10, Ryan 18 to 17, Hubba 27 to 24, Stevie 32 to 30. In lieu of Hughesy’s poor performance, Joe eased him out 2 shots from 22 to 24.
