Format: Stableford pairs (add stableford scores together)

Pastures new this month in the shape of Churchill Park for the members and it turned out to be in very good condition.

Stableford pairs was the format, with many laying claims to the propeller hats early doors. After 9 holes Macster was laying a firm hand on the NAGA trophy with 5 points recorded for the opening half. However the trophy was to be wrenched from his grasp by the team of Sutho and Baby Koala who carded 21 and 19 points (40) respectively with Macster and Joe finishing with 15 and 28 (43).

Sutho, Baby Koala

But, consistency is where it was to be won with Winker and Alan both recording steady scores of 30 and 34 points (64), on a tricky and tight course.

Winker, Alan

Nearest to the pin on the day went to Alan (3rd), Deeks (6th), Snappy Tom (11th) and Red (17th).

Handicappers were keen to move in and administer their monthly dose of slashings, with the winning pair getting cut 2 shots each bringing Winker down from 22 to 20 and Alan 33 to 31. Andy Mac who managed to record the highest score of the day with 38 points, nearly as many as Sutho and Baby Koala together, was to be cut 2 shots from 24 to 22. Common sense also prevailed with Barra easing out 1 shot to 18 after an unfair cut a few months back. As always a good job done by the handicappers.

Next outing is the first marquee event of the season, the re-scheduled Jack Jones Memorial at Flinders.
